Our English factory
Bearland House is an elegant 18th Century townhouse in the centre of historic Gloucester and home to the Emma Willis Factory. Here their luxury shirts, boxer shorts, pyjamas, dressing gowns and walking socks are made using traditional methods of cutting and sewing, making to the highest standards.
Cutting by hand, patterns are matched at the seams and sewn 18 stitches to the inch using single needle stitching for the neatest, strongest seams. Collars are hand trimmed before turning to ensure clean cut, sharp points, small handmade gussets at the side seams and finished with real Mother of Pearl buttons. All of their trimmings and components are sourced in England.
Cutters and machinists Amy, Andrew, Chloe, Ellie, Helen, Jacquie, Karen, Kath, Kelly, Lizandra, Lucie, Lyn, Mandy, Maureen, Megan, Sam and Steph are highly skilled and take great pride in their work. Ending, pressing, folding and packing are carried out with care and attention by Christine, Emma, Joanna and Tracy.
Emma spends 2 days a week at the factory overseeing design, cut, make and quality control of all bespoke and ready to wear shirts for the London Jermyn Street Shop, Mr Porter and emmawillis.com. Bespoke and ready to wear appointments are now available in our Bearland House showrooms. Please contact us to book an appointment.
